Who is cylon on battlestar galactica

Though freed by Lee Adama, neither Tigh, Anders nor Tyrol wears rank insignia on his fatigue collars while surveying post-apocalyptic Original Earth and upon their return to Galactica. Anders, however, continues to wear insignia on his flight suit under his fatigue field jacket.

Conversely, the human soldiers and Lt. Sharon Agathon wear their rank on their fatigues. Tigh continues to reside in his quarters and his sidearm has not been confiscated, but he is not shown to have resumed his rank and duties until the morning after Admiral Adama's drunken attempt to motivate Tigh to kill him.

The Final Five do not appear have reproductive difficulties as severe as those of the Seven. So far one of Final Five, Saul Tigh, has managed to sire progeny. Only two of the millions of Significant Seven copies: Sharon Agathon and Caprica-Six, have managed to become pregnant, and none of the countless male Significant Seven copies have sired children.

All attempts by the Tighs to have children between themselves, however, failed during Ellen's presumably fertile years. On the devastated Earth the Four have visions that confirm their origin, that they had indeed lived there 2, years ago as part of the Thirteenth Tribe , a humanoid Cylon civilization, all killed in the nuclear holocaust.

Unknown to any of them is how they all found themselves as Colonials in a star system light-years away, their memories of their past lives all but gone. Wading in the dead waters of Earth shortly before the Fleet returns to space and an unknown future, Colonel Tigh stumbles upon a post box hatch.

Handling the hatch, he experiences a vision of his short moments in the holocaust, hearing shouts from a woman trapped in the fallen debris of an apartment building. The face is unmistakable. The memory of Ellen Tigh tells him that "Everything is in place," that they all will be reborn again, together. Ellen's true nature is later made public knowledge upon her return to the fleet TRS : " Deadlock ". The Final Five worked in a research facility on Earth.

Saul and Ellen were married even back then and Tyrol and Foster were in love and planned to get married. What they were researching was a way to re-invent resurrection technology. Organic memory transfer came from Kobol , but had fallen out of use after the Thirteenth Tribe Cylons started to procreate. The Five worked night and day to rebuild it, spurred by apocalyptic warnings from the Messengers.

Tyrol's work on the project was "amazing", but it was Ellen who made the intuitive leap that brought the system back online. The Five then placed the technology and new bodies for them on a ship they placed in orbit around Earth.

When they were all killed in the nuclear holocaust unleashed by Earth's mistreated mechanical Cylons , they were reborn in their new bodies on the ship in orbit. Realizing that the other Twelve Tribes would continue to create artificial life, they headed for the Colonies to tell the humans to treat their creations well and keep them close.

Because their people hadn't developed jump drives , the Five's ship traveled at relativistic, but subluminal speed. Time slowed down for them, but thousands of years had passed.

According to Ellen, they stopped at the Temple of Hopes on their way to the Colonies, a temple that was created by their ancestors, who prayed there and got a sign that led them to Earth.

By the time they got to the Colonies, the humans were already at war with the Centurions. The Centurions were already trying to make flesh bodies. They had created the Hybrids , but nothing that lived on its own, so the Five made a deal with them: they stop the war and the Five will help them create humanoid Cylons.

The Centurions agreed and signed the Cimtar Peace Accord with humanity. The Five and the Centurions then withdrew to a mobile space station called The Colony placed beyond the Armistice Line. The Five developed the eight humanoid models and gave them resurrection technology. They created Number One first and named him John. He was named after Ellen's father and also made in his image.

Number One later changed his name to Cavil as he hated the name John. Cavil helped the Five build the other seven humanoid models. Ellen was close to Number Seven Daniel and Cavil, out of jealousy, contaminated the amniotic fluid in which the Daniel copies were maturing and then corrupted the genetic formula. This wiped out the copies permanently, and as Anders said of Daniel: "he died", indicating that the original Daniel was lost as well TRS : " No Exit ". Cavil rejected mercy.

He had a twisted idea of morality and despised the Five for contaminating their creations with human weaknesses and Centurion religious ideals, so he turned on them. He trapped them in a compartment and then he took the oxygen offline. Cavil boxed the Five at first but ultimately unboxed them and downloaded them into new bodies, blocking their true memories and implanting false ones, then introducing them one by one into the colonies.

He introduced Saul first, not long after the war. And then Ellen. Cavil put the Five into the human population in order to truly show them what humans are like. Other iterations of Leoben would have a much bigger impact on the story, particularly when it came to Kara Thrace, but his initial reveal was still felt well into the series as Gaius Baltar continuously tried to find a way to track the rest of the humanoid Cylons down.

Just when it seemed like the fleet were in the clear of Cylon attacks and had set up a new home on a planet dubbed New Caprica, the Cylons decided that they weren't quite done with humanity yet and took over the planet by force. Just before this colonization, Brother Cavil, a version of Number One with no memory of being a Cylon, was revealed to be the enemy when one of his copies was brought to the brig alongside him.

While Number One would be the center of many deeper reveals in the series, his initial reveal is deeply disturbing considering how fast Brother Cavil was willing to change sides when he found out he was a Cylon. One of the three Cylons revealed in the introductory mini-series, Aaron's reveal was quite different from Number Six and Number Two, in that his was entirely by accident. Unlike Leoben and Caprica Six, Aaron was able to hide his identity quite well among the human survivors, only to be pointed out as a Cylon by Gaius by sheer dumb luck.

Gaius, under pressure to find a way to identify humanoid Cylons among the fleet, lies and says he is successful, pointing out Aaron as a way to get Adama and Roslin off of his back, with his Cylon identity only being revealed to the audience when he rejoins a version of Leoben and Number Six on Caprica at the end of the mini-series.

One of the more heart-wrenching reveals was that of Boomer, who was deeply involved with Galen before her Cylon programming finally outed her as an enemy of the fleet. Despite trying her best to resist her Cylon programming, she would perform several acts of terrorism onboard Galactica before finally being caught, with her reveal being particularly hard on Galen. Equally as heartbreaking was Karl Agathon realizing that the version of Number Eight he had been stranded on Caprica with, as well as fell in love with, was a Cylon assigned to romance him in an attempt to create a Cylon-human hybrid, a mission which ended up being successful.

The first humanoid Cylon shown in the reimagined series, Number Six was assigned to Gaius Baltar so she could retrieve classified information that would doom humanity and, hopefully, eradicate them from the universe.

While she would go on to be labeled as a hero among the other Cylons, she couldn't shake the guilt of what she had done and would ultimately side with humanity. While not as shocking as Leoben or Aaron's reveal in the mini-series, Caprica's was instrumental in setting the stakes for the remainder of the series and creating a feeling of distrust among the entire cast.

His work, however, was a one-of-a-kind recreation of his daughter, Zoe Graystone , with synthetic hair and skin wrapped over an entirely robotic body, with the digital " Zoe-A " program downloaded into it. In the subsequent Cylon War , the rebellious Cylons endeavoured to create synthetic cybernetic organisms, believing that by bridging the gap between man and machine, they would be closer to the One True God.

During these experiments, the Cylon rebels came in contact with the Final Five , the sole survivors of the Thirteenth Tribe , who were themselves cybernetic beings. Having come to the colonies to prevent mankind being destroyed by their creations as befell themselves, the Five entered negotiations with the rebels to call for an armistice. With the Cylon War at an end, the Cylons left the Cyrannus system behind to begin their new life, and constructed a massive mobile space station known as " The Colony ".

Here, research took place on two projects: the creation of replicatable synthetic organisms and making it compatible with the Final Five's resurrection technology.

The first successful Humanoid Cylon was the prototype Number One , "John", who's physical appearance was modelled on the father of Ellen, one of the Five. John held violent tendencies, and in a fit of jealousy killed the Sevens while their bodies were still growing by poisoning their amniotic fluid, and then corrupted the data so that new bodies could not grow. At some point after the seven remaining models were mass-produced, the Number Ones initiated a revolution, disgusted by the mechanical Cylons and the Final Five's intention to make him as human as possible.

Over the next three decades, the Five were unboxed and sent out into Colonial society, with fake memories to think themselves human. Alongside this, the Humanoid Cylons themselves voted in favour of renewing the war with humanity, and began infiltrating society as well. When these events took place is not known. Saul was sent out in the s with memories of fighting in the Cylon War, with the others brought in later.

The latest possible time for the Humanoid Cylons to join would have been , two years before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. The degree of Cylon infiltration was extensive, it should be noted.

At least two Ones served as priests, allowing them to commit potential acts of sabotage in private. Gaius Baltar , an Aerelonian computer engineer working on military networking technology, and ensure the Cylons were able to use exploits to defeat the military.

Another Number Six took the guise of a military computer technician who could assist in destroying Battlestars undergoing refit. A third was a Gemenese anti-corruption protester, feeding information on the colony's defence capabilities back. A Number Eight was made a Sleeper Agent and instructed to join the Colonial Fleet as a pilot, allowing her to commit acts of sabotage when called.

On the fortieth anniversary of the Armistice, sometime around the year , the Cylons made their move.

Baltar, gave over a copy of the current build of the Command Navigation Program , in use in nearly the entire fleet, and the attack began. The fundamental distinguishing aspect that differentiates Humanoid Cylons from humans is that their nervous system processes and transmits information rather differently. Because of this difference, the consciousness of a Humanoid Cylon also shares many characteristics of a computer software program. Their minds can be transmitted, [12] stored, [13] re-programmed, [9] and even interfaced with mechanical computer systems.

Despite their cybernetic abilities, Humanoid Cylons are otherwise purely organic beings, yet also purely artificial.
